CME Federal Credit Union Privacy Policy

At CME Federal Credit Union we understand the need to keep sensitive information secure and confidential for all our members, joint account owners, and beneficiaries. We are dedicated to protecting your privacy, whether you conduct your business with us electronically or in person at one of our office locations. This commitment is ongoing, and before any new service is implemented at the Credit Union, we thoroughly review it to make certain it meets our privacy standards.

CME Federal Credit Union does not, and will not, sell any member information to list services, telemarketers, or outside companies.

We share specific types of information within CME Federal Credit Union and provide information to outside vendors, but only for the benefit of our members and then only under very controlled circumstances as described below.

We share information internally within the Credit Union to better meet your financial needs but even internally, only some information is shared, and only rigorous guarantees to insure your privacy. All Credit Union employees are required to comply with our privacy / confidentiality procedures as a condition of their employment.

Here are some examples of when information will be shared within the Credit Union. To complete transactions, or to maintain your accounts, we access your information as needed, as well as when we consider your requests for additional services. We may also access your information when reviewing an application from you, or when utilizing our rights held under any agreements we have made with you.

CME Federal Credit Union may provide very select information to Credit Union affiliates, but we only share this information when we believe that it will provide better service to our members. You can rest assured that any information shared with our affiliates will be safeguarded using security standards similar to those set by the Credit Union. CME FCU may provide select information with contracted vendors in order to assist us with special products or services that we are otherwise unable to provide, such as our credit card processor or account statement-printing vendor. Information may be provided to credit bureaus or similar organizations as disclosed in applications, or when we are legally required to do so, such as during an investigation.

The same principles and standards for protecting your privacy are also used for our online services. We do not automatically capture information in an attempt to identify personal e-mail addresses, or to gain unwarranted, confidential information about the user. We do use technologies that identify you when those technologies allow us to serve you better and with greater security. When you visit any web site, your "IP address" is recorded. We collect IP addresses for the sole purpose of tracking information and to compile statistics to help us improve the site so that our members will find it more helpful and informative. The information is used solely for these analytical purposes and is discarded after use. IP address information is not distributed to third parties. Any personal data or account information that you provide, either through online application or CME@Home, is encrypted in transmission for security. E-mail correspondence with the Credit Union is preserved to make necessary replies to members' questions, and/or to meet regulatory requirements.

We recognize how important the safeguarding of personal information is to our members, and we share your concerns. You have entrusted us with meeting your financial needs, and we recognize that a critical part of our job in meeting your needs is respecting and preserving your privacy.
