Good is a checking account.
Great is a checking
account that's smarter than you are. Great
is when it's OK if your check is bigger than your bank account
sometimes.
At CME, we know that overdrafts can accidentally
happen sometimes. When they do, we offer many convenient ways to
protect your credit history, your sanity, and yourself from embarrassment.
Link to any
deposit account
The easiest way is to link any of your deposit accounts to your checking. That
way, if you accidentally overdraft, the funds will automatically be transferred
to cover your check for a nominal fee. To avoid this fee, you may transfer money free of charge via CMEbyPhone or CME@Home to your checking account. Transferring the money yourself is the easiest way to avoid the overdraft all together.
Some restrictions: You can't link to your IRA or Christmas
Club, and government regulation limits you to 6 transfers of this type per month
per linked account.
Easy Line of Credit
Sometimes you need a flexible way to tide you over to the next paycheck,
or to cover you in the event you accidentally overdraw your checking
account. Well, for you we have our Easy Line of credit. Like
our signature loans, it's secured with nothing but your good name
and a promise to pay it back.
There is a nominal fee for this overdraft service. To avoid the overdraft fee, you can transfer money to your checking account free of charge via CMEbyPhone or CME@Home. Transferring the money yourself can also help you avoid the overdraft all together.
