2008 Winter Newsletter

Shred-It Day - The ninth NBC 4 Shred-It Day, in partnership with Shred-It Mobile Shredding & Recycling, will provide nine mobile shredding trucks from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 26.

Come to the Jerome Schottenstein Center’s scarlet parking lot located at the corner of West Lane Avenue and Olentangy River Road on The Ohio State University campus. Individuals are invited to bring a maximum of five medium-sized boxes filled with personal documents to be shredded on site for free. This community service is offered to individuals only, not to businesses or organizations.

CME Scholarships - CME will be awarding three $1,000 scholarships to graduating high-school seniors who will be enrolled as full-time students at an accredited college or university. Completed applications must be received by CME no later than 5:00 pm on April 4, 2008. Click here for more information and an application.

The Central Ohio Chapter of the Ohio Credit Union League Scholarships - There will be five scholarships awarded at $1,000 each. If you are chosen to receive a scholarship from the Central Ohio Chapter, your original application may then be chosen to participate in the statewide scholarship program sponsored by the Ohio Credit Union League, which awards five scholarships of $2,500 each. Firefighters 4 Kids Toy Drive - Thank you to all members who donate toys to the toy drive. CME is proud to be a part of this special program which helps to make the holidays special for needy children in Central Ohio. Look for donation boxes this fall in our branches.

CME Established "Community Means Everything" ProgramThe program encourages CME staff to donate part of their work day to community service events. Let us know where we can volunteer!

CME Supports Westerville Firefighters Memorial The non-profit oganization, Westerville Fire Fighters' Memorial, Inc. was formed and currently working to raise funds to create a fire fighters memorial in Westerville. To contribute to this fund or get more information, visit www.wffmemorial.org.

CME Marching Miles for Miracle Kids
Credit unions from across the state of Ohio came together to create a walkathon from Columbus (Dublin) to Cincinnati to raise funds for Children’s Miracle Network. Marching Miles for Miracle Kids is an Ohio statewide event to support Children’s Miracle Network and Ohio’s Children’s Hospitals.

CME participates in 21st Annual SnowFighters Roadeo
CME Federal Credit Union was a part of the 21st Annual SnowFighters Roadeo held in October for the Franklin County Engineer's Office. It gives our area "SnowFighters" an aopportunity to display their driving skills and at the same time to get ready for the upcoming winter season. Picture

Columbus Saves
CME participates in Columbus Saves. The goal of Columbus Saves is to assure the residents of central Ohio that they can build wealth and to assist them in doing so.

CME donates to benefit Get Behind the Badge, a organization which primary objective is to provide immediate financial aid to any Law Enforcement Officer or Firefighter who is critically wounded or killed in the line of duty, as well as promote and build stronger relationships between citizens of the community with their respective safety forces.
